ARMENIA’S HEALTH MINISTER ELABORATES ON UNIVERSAL INSURANCE BILL

A bill on universal insurance introduced by the RA Ministry of Health has caused an excitement.

In response to criticism, Minister Arsen Torosyan invited a press conference to elaborate on the project. According to him, the current required rate is 6%, which, however, may be reduced due to better macroeconomic indicators, GDP growth, lower unemployment level and so on.

Asked why employed citizens must pay for an unemployed ones, Mr Torosyan said that the latter group includes aged parents, relatives, students, children and even employed people – anyone can be disabled at any moment.
