RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan stated that the ex-chief of the Yerevan Police Department, Major-General Ashot Karapetyan, who was killed in a gas blast in Pyatigorsk, Russia, had been examined as a witness in the March 1 case.
“He was examined as a witness as a police officer holding a post at that time,” Davtyan said.
He refuted the rumors claiming Karapetyan’s death has something in common with the March 1 case.
“In criminal law terms, these are hypotheses. Such hypotheses are always put forward and measures are taken to examine them. As to the people you have named, I have no facts that I could share with you and that would have confirmed this hypothesis. I am inclined to verify all versions,” he said.
