The Independent article stresses that The Jamanak remains the only Armenian-language newspaper founded in the ottoman Empire.

Interestingly, on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the foundation of the newspaper, Turkish Minister of the Interior Süleyman Soylu visited the editorial office. It is an unprecedented visit by a Turkish government official to an Armenian-language newspaper.Moreover, The Jamanak is the oldest daily newspaper in Turkey.
