Many Armenian book lovers know Orhan Pamuk’s works. The Antares publishing house has been releasing the Armenian translations of his works since 2012.
But the Turkish writer and his Armenian “ambassadors” have met in Sharjah, UAE, at last!
Orhan Pamuk is the author of such world-famous novels as My Name is Red, The Black Book, and Snow.
Born in Istanbul, Mr Pamuk is famous for his firm stand on the Armenian Genocide, which is different from official Istanbul’s stance. He had to leave his homeland because of persecutions. Later he returned but had to leave again after Hrant Dink’s assassination in 2007.
Let us hope more Armenians will know about this man with a capital “M.”
