ARMEN SARGSYAN VISITED “AREGAK” INCLUSIVE BAKERY-CAFE IN GYUMRI

Today, President Armen Sargsyan visited “Aregak” inclusive bakery-cafe in Gyumri. The President is an expected guest here, as he is not visiting this Café – one of the warmest places in Gyumri – for the first time.

Armen Sargsyan was greeted by the young staff of the bakery-café; Michael, Grisha and others. They shared their successes, positive changes after the last meeting with the president, and the current activities of the café.

The president has tried the delicious and unique bakery-cakes and had a warm conversation with the whole staff.

ARMENIAN RED CROSS TO ASSIST SYRIAN REFUGEES

A new agreement has been signed to help Syrian refugees. Armenian Red Cross General Secretary Anna Yeghiazaryan and Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society President Hilal al-Sayer have signed an agreement on “Syrian Refugee Assistance to Armenia” in Geneva.

ARMENIAN RED CROSS TO ASSIST SYRIAN REFUGEES

The project was launched about a month ago on November 1 and will continue until October 31, 2020. The goal of the project is to improve the well-being of Syrian refugees in Armenia by providing humanitarian assistance and education to the most vulnerable families.

The total amount of support will be $100 000.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released the data of local self-government elections on the participation of citizens eligible to vote in the constituency at 2:00 pm.

In 16 communities, 5258 or 26.56% of the 19796 eligible voters has participated to the elections.

Let us to remind, that today local self-government elections are being held in 16 communities of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk and Shirak regions, 12 of which are regular and 4 are extraordinary. Twelve of these communities are running for community leader and 4 for community council members elections.

CAR CRASHED INTO RIVER, SYUNIK REGON

On December 8 at 00:56 am the Ministry of Emergency Situations received an alert that a car crashes into river in Gudemnis village of Syunik region.

The court has arrested Marina Sararmosyan, a former head of one of the subsidiaries at Moscow’s N27 maternity hospital. The reason is the inadequate medical care provided to the pregnant women.

Four victims filed a complaint against her, that she refused to undergo a caesarean section, which resulted injuries to new-born babes.
 Criminal cases have been instituted on the articles of “negligence” and “failure to meet security requirements”.

On December 6, the Moscow Department of Health announced that, following the results of numerous patient complaints, a decision was made to release the heads of Sparokukotsky Maternity Hospital No. 27, Marina Sararmosyan, the head of the maternity ward, and all department heads.

Earlier, the topic of widespread discussion on social networks was the publication of the woman who gave birth at that maternity hospital. According to her, despite the absence of any pathology during pregnancy, the baby was born with injuries due to a number of medical mistakes. The child suffered from brain swelling, even a clinical death. Although they have been able to save the baby, he will remain disabled.

A scuffle broke out between the boys in Yerevan last night, which ended with a stab.

Around 19:05, a 16-year-old boy was diagnosed with “lung injury, wounds in the back” at the “Surb Astvacamayr” Medical Center. Doctors are currently fighting for his life.

The injured boy was taken to a hospital from the yard of building 31 on Pushkin Street, where an unidentified man hit a boy with a sharp-edged item in a dispute with a friend of his age, causing bodily harm.

According to the source, on the same day police arrested several 15-18-year-old schoolchildren who participated in the scuffle.

A criminal case has been opened in Central Police Department.

ABANDONED MONKEY AT A GYUMRI RESTAURANT TO BE ZOO TODAY

Rumours have been circulating in the media since yesterday that a monkey was being kept at Gyumri’s Oasis restaurant, with an unproper conditions. The concerned citizen was alerted to the EcoNews.am environmental information site. He also informed that the “Oasis” restaurant belongs to the former mayor of Gyumri, the parliament member of the Prosperous Armenia faction Vardan Ghukasyan.

DEPUTIES’ NAMES – WHO WILL ELECT THE ARMENIAN PATRIARCH OF CONSTANTINOPLE – TO BE KNOWN TODAY

The much-awaited election of the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople will be held on December 11, 2019. After not having a patriarch for so many years, and such a big uproar over the recent change in the charter, everything seems to be coming to its logical end.

Elections of 102 MPs will be held in Istanbul today, who will elect the Patriarch. Voting centers are located near 30 churches.

According to preliminary data, 30,000 Armenians could participate in the elections, while 55,000 Armenians have the right to vote.

In addition, The Armenian community of Kiev organized a film screening at 4:00pm local time in Kievskaya Rus cinema, the film is dedicated to the earthquake victims.
