The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published the draft budget for 2020. It outlines the basic principles of next year’s foreign policy. It contains references to relations with Armenia and the Armenian Genocide
The document even contains a separate chapter on the “events of 1915”. It is noted that in 2019 the Armenian Genocide was recognized by the House of Representatives of Italy, the Portugal Parliament, and the US House of Representatives. France was also maintained, where on April 24, 2019 official commemoration of the Armenian Genocide victims was officially commemorated.
The report outlines Turkey’s position on the matter. “Our country is determined to continue its position and to deny the Armenian Genocide based on legal and historical truths about the events of 1915. We must continue to deny the Armenian Genocide. Armenia must change its attitude towards the Genocide and stop the blaming of Turkey. If this does not happen, there wouldn’t be any relationship development between Armenia and Turkey”- is written in the document.
